If you are use Ubuntu as your operating system, many people who found the difficulty in changing Desktop Theme. We all know that there have a lot of themes was created by the community, but there is a hundreds of themes that can be download on the internet. But if you want to get a new one, you should notice some actions need to do first before applying your new theme. This article will provide plenty of information about change ubuntu themes. The default light theme of Ubuntu looks absolutely amazing and thus you might want to change it with some cool new themes. In this article we will be considering about how to change your ubuntu themes.

We use Ubuntu Desktop Environment for this article because most popular distros are based on Ubuntu. Obviously, this is applicable to other desktop versions of Linux as well. This article aims to help anyone who's interested in changing the theme of their Ubuntu desktop using all possible ways without having issue. Download Best Ubuntu Themes

Ubuntu is a great operating system, but the default theme that comes with Ubuntu is only alright. It isn't terrible, it just doesn't look very polished to my eyes. Wonderfully, there are hundreds of gorgeous themes available to download and use on Ubuntu from sites like GNOME Look and Deviant Art. Here is a list of Popular Themes can be download free on your Ubuntu.

Download one of them from Gnome Looks and Save It.

Install Gnome Tweaks

To customizing our ubuntu , we have to install a gnome package called Gnome Tweaks. Fire up your terminal and run this command.
sudo apt install gnome-tweaks

Copy your theme to System

Either you can create a directory on your home with the name .themes for your themes and .icons for icons or you can extract or move your themes and icons to system themes/ icons  folder. The recommend method is, move your themes / icons  to its system directory with root privilegeFor your theme, move in this directory: system root > usr > share > themes. On share folder you also find icon folder for your icons and cursor icon.

Install Gnome Shell Extensions

Top panel and Launchers has also themes. They are called Gnome shell themes. You need to install GNOME Shell Extensions user themes to install theme from local directory and shell. Use the following command in the terminal and install it:
sudo apt install gnome-shell-extensions

 After installing the this, go to Extensions > User Themes and turn it on.

Change GNOME theme with GNOME Tweaks tool

Once you have move new themes, it is time to see how to use this new GNOME theme. You have already GNOME Tweaks tool installed for this purpose. Now open Gnome Tweaks and change your themes.
