Fix Error 2502 and 2503 while installing Node.js
What is the error 2503?
This error is mostly due to permissions issue with the Temp folder of Windows which can be usually found in C:\Windows\Temp. While the issue is not limited to permissions issue as sometimes virus or malware, incorrect registry, corrupt Windows Installer, incompatible 3rd party programs etc can also cause the error 2502/2503. To Fix this error, please refer to the below-listed troubleshooting solutions.
Error installing Node.js
Recently I have a clean installation of Windows 11. While installing node.js in my computer , I found this issue. Let's fix it. Any programme that encounter this issue can be fixed by following this troubleshoot.
Fix: Set Correct Permissions for Temp Folder
- Navigate to the following folder in File Explorer: C:\Windows\Temp
- Right-click on Temp folder and select Properties.
- Switch to Security tab and then click Edit
- Click ALL APPLICATION PACKAGE and Allow Full Control
Now restart your computer and Install nodejs.msi again. It will work like a charm.

In this troubleshoot, We fixed our problem of 2503 and 2502 error while installing node.js. This solution will work for any programme that has 2503 or 2502 issue during installation.
